So blown away watching my college friends tear up the Filmore in D.C. I was lucky enough to be one of the four cameras in the pit last night and this is by far the biggest crowd I have ever SEEN!
I remember watching Harry Potter Musical (as it was called back then because no one thought anything else would happen with it) in the Michigan Arts basement night it opened when I was a sophomore in college. I then remember watching with disbelief as everyone started exploding on YouTube. It had occurred to me that these guys had gained super-celebrity status since they started playing sold out Filmores across the country, but it really sunk it last night. Being there, watching the meet and greet, the homemade t-shirts, the DC sungalsses, and the fans so far away from Michigan singing along to every word— it was unreal! Everyone looked so happy!
These guys deserve every bit of success they get. More video footage of their shenanigans coming soon! And if you’re coming to the New York show, I’ll be there behind the soundboard!
